Former professional snowboarder, now increasingly acclaimed artist inspired by nature and Norwegian folklore.
Former professional snowboarder, now increasingly acclaimed artist based in Oslo/Krokskogen, Norway. Well known and respected within snowboarding both for his characteristic riding style and for his creative work for brands like K2, Spy, ThirtyTwo, Howl and L1. After retiring from professional snowboarding Danny has expanded his commercial illustrations to prestigious clients like Magnor, Anti Denim, Wongraven Wines and Maaemo. His «stippling» drawings bears closer resemblance to the art of Norwegian folklore-artist Theodor Kittelsen (1857 - 1914) than the skate-art many other snowboard artist cites as inspiration.
"ETHOS" Art Exhibition
The attitude of freewill and self-expression that snowboarding embraces has shaped and influenced a genre of art and a thriving subculture of its own. Personal expression has set the tone for a wide variety of styles and artistic interpretations of the lifestyle.
Our first movement is to host the “Ethos” exhibition on June 16th at Revir Galleri in Oslo, Norway.
Artist and Curator Peter-John de Villiers has assembled a group of key artists that represent a wide spectrum within the genre. These seven creatives have had an impact on the visual aesthetic we see in snowboarding today.
